1. How are Batavia Commission members chosen?

The Batavia mayor appoints Batavia residents to serve on each commission, with at least one city employee appointed to serve as a city staff liaison. The mayor's appointments are subject to approval by the Batavia City Council. 

2. Can anyone attend a commission meeting?

The Batavia Bicycle Commission and the Batavia Environmental Commission meetings are open to the public. The Bicycle Commission typically meets the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m. The Environmental Commission typically meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. Please visit the agenda center for details on meeting locations and agendas. 

3. Can I apply for a commission appointment?

Batavia residents who are interested in being appointed to fill vacancy on the Batavia City Council, or an appointment to a City of Batavia advisory commission or board, please complete the following application.
