Mark Uher says there is so much to love about Batavia. "I want to do what I can to help make it a community we can all be proud of for many generations to come. The most important projects to me are those you may not see on a day to day basis. These include storm water, sewer, and electrical improvements and the Waste Water Treatment Plant. Wisely spending in these infrastructure areas will ensure homeowners and businesses are impacted less by major events such as large rainfall and power outages."
Another important project for Uher is the North Batavia Dam by the Challenge factory. On many weekends over the summer and fall you may see him kayaking on the Fox River and many mornings running on the paths on both sides of the river. He adds that having a river in town adds to the social and recreational opportunities for our citizens. The Depot Pond is also a unique and historic part of Batavia that needs to be saved. We need to do what we can to preserve the pond and be environmentally responsible when it comes to dam.
