planning for batavia energy future

The City of Batavia is seeking public input on its preliminary Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) — a long-term strategy to ensure reliable and affordable electricity for residents and businesses.

Developed by the Brattle Group, the IRP evaluates future electric needs, market trends, and technologies to help guide Batavia’s energy decisions over the next 20 years. The plan reflects feedback from a community survey earlier this year, where residents identified affordability and reliability as top priorities.

The preliminary IRP is now available online for public review and comment through December 30, 2025. Residents are encouraged to read the plan and share feedback.

Attend the IRP Public Meeting:
Tuesday, December 9, 2025, 6 p.m., City Hall Council Chambers, 100 N. Island Ave. A Zoom option will be available.

Community input will help shape future decisions related to electric supply, infrastructure investments, and programs that maintain long-term affordability and resilience.
