The Batavia Police Department took part in a Halloween traffic safety campaign to crack down on impaired driving. The campaign was part of a statewide effort with the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), the Illinois State Police, and law enforcement agencies across Illinois.
Between October 24th – November 3rd, Batavia officers dedicated 18.25 hours solely to this initiative. As a result, officers recorded:
20 traffic contacts,
2 DUI arrests,
1 no valid driver’s license arrest,
1 warrant arrest, and
23 traffic citations issued including 6 speeding citations.
