2025 Accomplishments for the Batavia Strategic Plan (2024-2028)
In 2025, Batavia made significant progress on its Strategic Plan, enhancing community infrastructure and services. Key achievements included constructing the River Street ramp and improving access at the Larsen Becker lot, advancing public restroom design for downtown, and approving incentives for a 72-unit workforce housing complex. The city also purchased property for a large-scale housing development and began digitizing 1,000 boxes of community development and police files, alongside launching a new website and mobile app for improved public service.
Community engagement initiatives featured online permitting options, standardized memo templates for agenda items, and hosting Farmers Market events. The fire department secured a state grant, added a firefighter for better coverage, and digitized training records. Additionally, lead service line replacement continued ahead of schedule, and electric utility planning advanced through rate design studies. These efforts underscore Batavia's commitment to progress and community well-being.
