Peace Bridge Ramp Construction on Target

Construction of the new Peace Bridge Bike Ramp to enhance the current stair-only access with an ADA-compliant ramp is on target for spring 2026 opening.

The ramp will be located on the east side of the Fox River, near the intersection of north River and State Streets will provide a smooth and inclusive connection between the lower Fox River Trail and the Peace Bridge. The upgrade is designed to improve accessibility for all users, including pedestrians, cyclists, and individuals with mobility challenges.

Throughout construction, pedestrian access to the bridge and walkway will remain open via a designated corridor. However, short-term closures may occur as needed to ensure public safety.

To facilitate construction activities, River Street between State and Spring streets may be temporarily closed. Detour signage for both pedestrians and vehicles will be provided in the event of any closures.

To support the Farmers' Market and other community events, no construction will take place on Saturdays.

Construction will continue through the fall, with the new ramp anticipated to open in spring 2026. All scheduled events, including the Farmers Market, will proceed as planned during the project timeline.

The Peace Bridge Ramp project is funded through Tax Increment Financing (TIF).
