Eastern Redbud Tree

The City of Batavia is once again offering residents the opportunity to purchase a parkway tree as part of its ongoing commitment to reforestation and a healthy urban forest. Each year, the City carefully selects locally grown, high-quality tree species that are well suited to thrive in Batavia’s parkways while supporting long-term tree diversity and resilience.

Thanks to funding from the City’s Non-Reusable Bag Fee, trees are available to residents at a discounted rate. The cost includes the tree, professional planting, and mulch. Due to high demand, each address is limited to one tree per request period. Residents may submit the Parkway Tree Request Form online or request a paper copy. After the request period closes, eligible residents will receive a confirmation detailing the tree species selected and next steps.

Available species include Swamp White Oak, Marmo Freeman Maple, Jefferson Elm, American Hornbeam, China Snow Peking Lilac, Eastern Redbud, and Chinkapin Oak. For details and the order form, visit bataviail.gov/parkwaytrees.
