The City of Batavia contracts with Groot to provide recycling and refuse collection to Batavia residents. July 1 marks the beginning of year four of a five year contract and rates will increase.
All households are required to rent a Groot toter for refuse. The various sizes and toters rental costs after July 1, 2026 are:
35-Gallon Refuse Toter Monthly Rental: $18.84
35-Gallon SENIOR Refuse Toter Monthly Rental: $14.34
65-Gallon Refuse Toter Monthly Rental: $24.12
95-Gallon Refuse Toter Monthly Rental: $26.37
Disposal Sticker for Yard Waste, bulk item, or addition refuse (Per Item): $3.37
Included 65-Gallon Recycling Toter: No fee
Additional 65-Gallon OR 95-Gallon Recycling Toter Monthly Rental: $2.45
65-Gallon Dedicated Yard Waste Toter Monthly Rental – Seasonal Collection (April 1-Nov 30): $191.23
95-Gallon Dedicated Yard Waste Toter Monthly Rental – Seasonal Collection (April 1-Nov 30): $202.16
Batavia residents are required by ordinance to have refuse and recycling services. The City of Batavia's contracted vendor through June 30, 2028 is Groot Industries. For issues with your collection service, visit the Groot Website, or call 630-892-9294.
