Residents interested in running for Batavia City Council in the 2027 Consolidated Election can now access the City of Batavia’s Candidate Guide at bataviail.gov/o/cob/page/candidate-guide.

The guide provides prospective candidates with information about filing requirements, important election deadlines and required forms. Nominating petitions may be circulated beginning Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2026.

One seat in each of Batavia’s seven wards is up for election to a four-year term. An additional Ward 7 seat for an unexpired two-year term also will be on the ballot in the Consolidated Election on Tuesday, April 6, 2027.

Candidate nominating petitions must be filed between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays, Monday, Nov. 16, through Monday, Nov. 23, 2026, at the Jeffery D. Schielke Government Center, 100 N. Island Ave.
