Thank you to the crews from Batavia’s Electric Department for their quick response and hard work restoring power following yesterday’s outage on the southwest side of Batavia.
The outage was caused by a lightning strike to a utility pole across from the main entrance to Alice Gustafson School. Crews inspected the pole, reinforced it with through bolts to prevent further splitting, and safely restored service to affected customers. The damaged pole is scheduled to be replaced later this week.
We appreciate the dedication of our electric crews, who work around the clock to keep power reliable and our community safe, especially during severe weather events.
