
🚔 Batavia Police Release Fourth of July Enforcement Stats
From June 20–July 7, the Batavia Police Department joined more than 200 agencies across Illinois in a statewide traffic safety campaign aimed at preventing impaired driving and promoting seat belt use during the Fourth of July holiday.
👮 During the campaign, Batavia officers:
• Conducted 57 traffic stops
• Issued 56 citations, including:
• 37 for speeding
• 1 for distracted driving
• 18 for other violations
• Made 3 arrests, including:
• 1 DUI (alcohol)
• 1 DUI (drugs)
• 1 for driving without a valid license
These results underscore our commitment to keeping Batavia’s roads safe through proactive enforcement and public education.
This effort was part of the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over,” “Drive High Get a DUI,” and “Click It or Ticket” initiatives, funded by federal traffic safety grants through @IDOTIllinois.

Batavia Electric is planning electric system upgrades in your neighborhood. Construction is expected to begin in Spring 2026 and will include installing underground conduit and power facilities within rights-of-way and electric easements.
